Newsletter - 5/10/2022

Been a weird week. A wedding, dance recitals, a parade, basketball, a concussion, Mother's Day, a broken air conditioner. Everything I try to write about it sounds odd and jumbled, so I’m just going to leave it at that.

Shit week for writing. Sorry, mom—I know you read these. Language! I picked up the pace for editing, but many things went sideways last week. A lot went right, and this newsletter helps me recall them. New pics came out for merch, I received my poster for book signings, I had good connections on IG and set up a book tour through bythebookvbp, but enough things sputtered that I came away with a “WTH?” for the week. (Marla, I'm about a week to a week-and-a-half out from sending you the book for edits).

Time to re-ignite my countdown timer! That may look like a lot of time, but from my perspective, it isn't.

That shows where my head is. 🙃 I haven't hit a home run in my job search, nor has anything knocked my socks off. I had an opportunity that appealed to me more than others, working at a startup called Tenstorrent. Though I didn't get the job, I realized through the process that I really like the idea of a...

I would like to lock down my blurb so that I can send it to the cover editor. I took input from April, then made more edits. I’m open to suggestions. Also pretty happy with it. The Mother of Trees withers while the trolls prepare to conquer a crumbling world. The elves’ only hope rests on a desperate plan forged by a fanatical Warder with questionable motives. Elliah, a magicless elf cursed by prophecy, holds the key to either salvation or destruction. Forced into an uneasy alliance with the...
